Construction Institute of America
In response to the emergence of design-build project delivery as a significant force in the
design and construction field, the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) was founded
(in 1993) to provide a voice supporting this integrated process. Fundamentally,
design-build embraces architecture/engineering and construction services under a
single contract, thereby re-combining the vital roles of designer and constructor.
Design-build practitioners come from a long tradition of excellence and, while
honoring their past, look to the future with innovative design and information-age
management techniques to continue those high standards.
ECHO, Executive Council of Home Owners
The Executive Council of Homeowners (ECHO) is a nonprofit membership corporation dedicated to
assisting California homeowners associations. ECHO provides help to homeowners associations on
many fronts: finances, legal issues, insurance, maintenance, and management. Members
receive help through conferences, trade shows, seminars, a 48-page monthly magazine,
and publications.
Marin Builders Exchange
The Marin Builders Association (MBA) was created in 1958 to encourage excellence in the
quality of service provided by the building industry in Marin County, to maintain high
professional and ethical standards among MBA members and to obtain, coordinate and
disseminate information essential to those in the building industry. MBA is also
dedicated to improving the public's understanding of the construction industry.
